Experimental controlled-NOT gate simulation with thermal light
We report a recent experimental simulation of a controlled-NOT gate operation based on polarization correlation measurements of thermal fields in photon-number fluctuations. The interference between pairs of correlated paths at the very heart of these experiments has the potential for the simulation of correlations between a larger number of qubits.
متن کاملExperimental demonstration of a controlled-NOT wave-packet gate.
We report the experimental demonstration of a controlled-NOT (CNOT) quantum logic gate between motional and internal-state qubits of a single ion where, as opposed to previously demonstrated gates, the conditional dynamics depends on the extent of the ion's wave packet. Advantages of this CNOT gate over one demonstrated previously are its immunity from Stark shifts due to off-resonant couplings...
متن کاملExperimental teleportation of a quantum controlled-NOT gate.
Teleportation of quantum gates is a critical step for the implementation of quantum networking and teleportation-based models of quantum computation. We report an experimental demonstration of teleportation of the prototypical quantum controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate. Assisted with linear optical manipulations, photon entanglement produced from parametric down-conversion, and postselection from the c...
متن کاملTime-evolution simulation of a controlled-NOT gate with two coupled asymmetric quantum dots
We study a possible physical realization of a quantum controlled-NOT gate with the use of two weakly coupled asymmetric quantum dots. Solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for the model twoelectron system, we simulate the infrared-radiation-induced quantum transitions that correspond to basic gate operations. We require the transition probabilities to be close to 1 and optimize the pa...
متن کاملExperimental realization of a controlled-NOT gate with four-photon six-qubit cluster states.
We experimentally demonstrate an optical controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate with arbitrary single inputs based on a 4-photon 6-qubit cluster state entangled both in polarization and spatial modes. We first generate the 6-qubit state, and then, by performing single-qubit measurements, the CNOT gate is applied to arbitrary single input qubits. To characterize the performance of the gate, we estimate its ...
